The relatives of teens unaccounted for after a tragic blaze at a bar in a Swiss winter destination are facing an excruciating wait for answers and requesting information about their children via social media.

The fire engulfed the a popular bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of January 1st. Confirmed images show the ceiling being engulfed in flames as beverages with sparklers are held aloft.

Officials have stated that it could take an extended period to formally name the victims of the fire, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and wounded another 119. A spokesperson stated on the latest update that the majority of the injured have been identified, with the process still underway to identify the remaining few.

In the interim, loved ones have been using online platforms to plead for clues about their missing relatives who were at the bar that night.

Appeals for the Missing

The fate of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, a teenager, are still unconfirmed, according to an heartfelt request from his family.

The resident of a town near Lausanne, told a publication that she had returned to the city to check whether he was in the medical facility, while his father did the equivalent search in Bern, but could not find him.
