British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday evening. The athlete was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
His release from the hospital arrives after the global fight fans had expressed its support for the fighter in the following the devastating accident.
